The changes are aimed at equal opportunities for women as Articles 149 and 150 of the Labor Law, which prohibited the employment of women in dangerous jobs and night shifts, have been abolished.
Furthermore, the changes shall also ensure the well-being of workers engaged in dangerous professions: Article 186 of the Labor Law has been amended to prohibit the employment of any person below the age of 18 in mines or quarries. Similarly, Article 131 has been added to the Labor Law, curbing working hours of jobs that expose workers to danger and are likely to effect their well-being.
