The biggest Legal Reforms in the 50-year History of the United Arab Emirates
On the occasion of the UAE's 50th anniversary, the largest legal reform in the country was launched. Over 40 laws were newly enacted or significantly amended. The most important changes include the protection of personal data, strengthening of online security, the enactment of a new labour law as well as the possibility for foreign investors to fully hold their own companies in the national territory. In addition, rights for persons in the private sphere were strengthened, such as the decriminalisation of extramarital relations and the recognition of illegitimate children and their rights to health and education.
Anlässlich des 50-jährigen Bestehens der VAE wurde die größte Rechtsreform des Landes auf den Weg gebracht. Über 40 Gesetze wurden neu erlassen oder maßgeblich geändert. Zu den wichtigsten Änderungen zählen der Schutz personenbezogener Daten, Stärkung der Online-Sicherheit, der Erlass eines neuen Arbeitsgesetzes sowie die Möglichkeit für ausländische Investoren eigene Unternehmen im Staatsgebiet vollständig zu halten. Zudem wurden Rechte für Personen im privaten Bereich gestärkt, wie z.B. die Entkriminalisierung außerehelicher Beziehungen sowie die Anerkennung nichtehelicher Kinder und deren Rechte auf Gesundheit und Bildung.
Con ocasión del cincuenta aniversario de la fundación de los EAU se ha emitido la mayor reforma legal del país. Más de 40 leyes han sido promulgadas o modificadas de manera sustancial. Los cambios más importantes incluyen la protección de datos, mejoras en la seguridad de Internet y una nueva ley laboral. Por otra parte, también se permite que los inversores extranjeros puedan ser propietarios de las empresas en su totalidad. Además, se han reforzado los derechos privados, como la despenalización de las relaciones extramatrimoniales y el reconocimiento de que los hijos fuera del matrimonio tengan derecho a la sanidad y educación.
